A New Joe in Town: E.P. Guidi Delivers Second Trader Joe's to Downtown Philadelphia

November 1st, 2019

There's a new Trader Joe's in town! Fans of the popular supermarket chain, known for its walls decorated with surfboards and employees wearing Hawaiian shirts, rejoiced when the company decided to open a second location in downtown Philadelphia.  E.P. Guidi was honored to construct the first location at 21st & Market streets, as well as the new location at 1324 Arch Street.

The project included the 16,000 square foot interior fit-out of the new grocery store within the busy Convention Center parking garage.  The scope included significant emphasis on mechanical and refrigeration equipment installation throughout the store space, as well as the 2nd floor and roof of the parking garage, for which a crane was required to maneuver and set the equipment.

E.P. Guidi is proud to be a long-standing partner of Trader Joe's, having constructed more than a dozen stores for the company.
