E.P. Guidi was awarded two Construction Excellence Awards from the General Building Contractor's Association (GBCA) for the Island Waterpark at Showboat Resort project. The award categories were "Best Hospitality Project" and "Excellence in Craftsmanship: $50+ Million."

Project Spotlight: EP Guidi Continues Progress on the Island Waterpark at Showboat Casino

E.P. Guidi is now 70% complete on one of the largest Open-Air Greenhouse Structures in the country at the new $100 million Island Waterpark at Showboat Casino in Atlantic City.

After pouring over 10,000 cubic yards of concrete and installing over 700 tons of reinforcing steel, our project team is now configuring miles of underground plumbing, electrical, low voltage and specialty piping required for the aquatic structures, specialty features, pools, play structures, rides, kids’ zone and adult pools.

As shown below, both pump rooms are being equipped with extensive filters, pumps, chlorinators and control panels, and all associated equipment is being piped, wired and ready to be brought online.

The ride structures and associated walkways are also taking shape.

The Superstructure of the greenhouse enclosure is just about complete, with significant progress realized on the insulated polycarbonate roof and vertical siding.

Also nearing completion are the new locker rooms, showers, toilet rooms and kitchen areas.

Theming and millwork, as well as the new Family Entertainment Center, will begin shortly.

Project Spotlight: EP Guidi Completing Superstructure of Island Waterpark

E.P. Guidi Completes Next Phase of Island Waterpark at Showboat Casino

After completion of the project’s footings and foundation work, E.P. Guidi is now underway with the construction of the Superstructure greenhouse for the new $100 million Island Waterpark at Showboat Casino in Atlantic City.

The project has progressed through construction of all building and ride foundations, as well as the major pump room.

The Superstructure of the greenhouse enclosure is more than halfway complete, with the insulated polycarbonate roof in progress, as well as the renovations to the interior of the existing Showboat Casino areas housing the kitchens, lockers and restrooms.

Construction of the ride structures has also begun. The green columns penetrate the major pump room roof. Work has also begun on assembling the fiberglass slides, as well as the underground pool piping and concrete work.

E.P. Guidi Completes New Giant in South Philadelphia

E.P. Guidi is proud to announce that a new Giant Food store has recently been completed in South Philadelphia. The 46,000 square foot full-service grocery store, located at Columbus Boulevard and Reed Street, incorporates the full slate of Giant's offerings, including a beer and wine garden.

This location also features a new store layout package with modern upgrades such as expanded prepared food, meat and seafood service counters, as well as a larger natural and organic products section.

E.P. Guidi is honored to have partnered with Tower Investments, Giant and McGillin Architecture on this exciting project.

E.P. Guidi Building New St. Luke's MOB at Smithfield Gateway

E.P. Guidi is proud to announce that construction of a new project for St. Luke's University Health Network is underway in Monroe County, PA. The new St. Luke's Medical Office Building is a 40,000 square foot, two-story healthcare facility being constructed for DEPG/Legend Properties. This project is part of the larger Smithfield Gateway development, a planned residential and retail destination.

The project scope includes extensive sitework encompassing 120 acres on both sides of Route 209. This includes the installation of a 6-foot stormwater management pipe 30 feet underground, running from the development site north of Route 209, to the Brodhead Creek, a total of 1300 linear feet. The installation is being accomplished by boring underneath the highway. Our project team is conducting these activities without impacting traffic flow.

Temple ASTAR Complex Wins Merit Award

E.P. Guidi is proud to announce that the Prairie Gateway Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) selected the Temple University Aramark Student Training and Recreation (STAR) Complex for their Merit Award in the General Design category.

The ASLA jury specifically noted the following project elements:

"Integration of the track, especially for the community, is a great design...a lot of details were really well thought out and collaborated."

The jury also lauded the project's thoughtful use of a tight site in a city setting, calling out the following:

A fascinating design approach to a seemingly small amount of land. It is commendable that the community is an end user group.

Unique integration of the track as a primary landscape element; creative solution to "impervious stairs"; great stormwater management story and implementation.

We proudly share this award with our project team members, including Temple University, Moody Nolan Architects and Langan Engineering.

Safety First: E.P. Guidi's Response to Covid-19

Now, more than ever, SAFETY is of paramount importance, both in the office and on our jobsites. We have taken strict safety measures to ensure both our office staff, and our staff in the field, are protected at all times.

In addition to the adoption of new safety measures in the office, E.P. Guidi has developed a company-wide Covid-19 Jobsite Prevention, Preparedness and Response Plan (JPPRP) to help our Project Teams navigate through these uncertain times with a priority on safety and protection. This plan, based on the most up to date information from the CDC and OSHA, ensures that everyone remains safe at all times.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), jobsite cleaning and disinfecting, and other jobsite protective measures serve as a safeguard for all on our jobsites, with the aim of limiting any possible jobsite exposure situations.

Our Project Teams are well-versed in the proper safety measures outlined in our company JPPRP. We have always put Safety First on our jobsites, and will continue to to do so through this pandemic.
