E.P. Guidi provided contracting and construction management services for the Island Waterpark at Showboat Resort, the largest beachfront indoor waterpark in the United States and one of the country’s largest open-air greenhouse structures. Spanning 120,000 square feet, the facility brings an unmatched entertainment experience to Atlantic City’s boardwalk.
The project demanded extensive sitework to support the massive polycarbonate superstructure, along with the integration of highly complex water and mechanical systems. One of the early milestones was an initial 1,000-cubic-yard concrete foundation pour, completed over the course of seven hours—a feat that set the stage for the scale and pace of the work ahead.
Inside, the waterpark is designed to offer something for everyone. It features 11 water slides, a 6,500-foot lazy river, a wave simulator, and multiple themed zones, including a dedicated adult-only area and an expansive boardwalk-inspired space. Six bars and a variety of additional attractions make the facility not only a family destination, but also a hub for nightlife and entertainment.
The project was delivered on a fast-track schedule, with accelerated phases to ensure doors opened in time for the summer season, highlighting E.P. Guidi’s ability to deliver complex, large-scale projects under demanding timelines.
