E.P. Guidi constructed a new 30,000 SF multi-use medical office building for Pocono Medical Center, now part of Lehigh Valley Health Network, extending access to comprehensive healthcare services in a rural setting. The facility consolidates multiple outpatient services under one roof, creating a centralized care destination for the West End community.
The building includes a 3,900 SF Urgent Care suite with x-ray capabilities, a 2,200 SF Riverside Rehabilitation suite, a 2,800 SF Pocono Eye Care suite, and a 1,500 SF medical office. Two elevators support patient circulation between floors, while a fire suppression system utilizing underground storage tanks feeds the fire pump from on-site well water. The facility operates on stand-alone utility systems, including water, sewer, gas, and a dedicated septic system.
Interior spaces were designed to balance clinical performance with a welcoming, hospitality-inspired environment. A grand entry canopy leads into a lobby anchored by a feature stair finished in wood-look tile and stone. Clinics are differentiated through warm, earth-toned color palettes accented with brighter highlights, while high clerestory windows and exposed wood beams bring natural light and a contemporary rural character to shared waiting areas.
The project also included a five-acre sitework package and careful coordination of tenant relocation to ensure uninterrupted operations throughout construction. The completed facility reflects E.P. Guidi’s experience delivering technically complex healthcare buildings that respond to both operational needs and community context.
