E.P. Guidi constructed Temple University’s Architecture Building, a four-story, 50,000-square-foot academic facility designed to support the growth of the university’s architecture program. The building provides flexible studio, lab, and administrative space within an open, light-filled environment that fosters creativity and collaboration among students and faculty.
Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, the project emphasized sustainable design and efficient construction practices. The exterior envelope features a predominately glass curtain wall system with metal panels at key storefronts, maximizing daylight and visual connection to the surrounding campus. A green roof and energy-efficient LED lighting further contribute to the building’s LEED Silver certification.

Inside, exposed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems presented a distinct coordination challenge. E.P. Guidi worked closely with trade contractors and the design team to organize and align every system element, achieving a clean, deliberate aesthetic consistent with the architectural intent.
The completed facility balances technical complexity with design simplicity, reflecting Temple University’s commitment to experiential learning and sustainable architecture. Its integration of structure, systems, and light demonstrates E.P. Guidi’s ability to deliver sophisticated educational environments that advance both academic and design excellence.
